In November of 2007, I embarked to the quaint town of Savannah, Georgia in an SUV with my mom. We went down to shoot a music video for my original song “Formula” off of my Last One Standing EP. It was directed by my brother Vincent Carubia, who also used the piece for his student final. The experience was one of the most fun times I have ever had. My mother and I went on wild goose chases around Savannah, looking for clothes & jewelry for the shoot, and lace to sew onto the bottom of the dresses. It wasn’t just us 3 working on the shoot though. We really would not have been able to do it, had it not been for the amazing cast and crew behind the scenes and in front of the camera. Julio Penagos did an amazing job choreographing and teaching me the tango dance scene in about 2 hours, which we had only been able to practice the night before the shoot. Talk about pressure! Mandee Mallonee was the girl in the white dress at the end of the vid, who battles me out for my latin lover’s affection, lol. She did an amazing job as well! I’d also like to thank our DP Ryan O’hara and Jorge Ponce our production assistant who helped with production stills and things of that sort. The whole trip was such a fun experience and one I will always remember <3
